Foam to Size began in 1972 with a simple goal: to supply high-quality foam products to local upholsterers in Virginia and Maryland. What started as a one-person operation has grown into a trusted, multi-generational, family-run business serving both individual customers and commercial clients across the region.
Today, we’re proud to offer custom-cut foam, upholstery tools and supplies, and specialty products for everything from couches and boat seats to RV beds and packaging inserts — all delivered with the same dedication to quality and service that started it all.
Built by Family, Powered by Teamwork
From the beginning, this business has been a family affair. Founder Al Montgomery laid the foundation, later joined by his wife Virginia and son Sandy, who helped expand the business into custom foam cutting, packaging foam, and upholstery supplies.
Now led by Sandy Montgomery, Foam to Size continues to grow thanks to a loyal team:
- Thomas Rector, Sandy’s son-in-law, handles day-to-day operations, customer service, shipping, and ordering.
- Taylor Rector, Thomas’s brother, manages warehouse operations, custom foam cutting, and walk-in customers.
- Robin Montgomery, Sandy’s sister, coordinates deliveries and runs the shop when needed.
- Eric Stein has been with Foam to Size since 1993, handling shipping, loading, and logistics.
Together, we bring decades of hands-on experience, helpful advice, and dependable service to every customer — whether you’re replacing a single couch cushion or outfitting an entire restaurant.
